In 2015,  the owners of The Grill at Leon Springs, Armand Obadia and Master Chef Thierry Burkle, had an idea to host a very special event focused on assisting wounded military members (and their families) struggling with basic needs in the local San Antonio area.  Coach Gregg Popovich agreed to assist in this noble cause, and the concept of Heroes at The Grill was born.  On November 17, 2015, the inaugural Heroes at the Grill was a tremendous success, as a sellout crowd raised more than $125,000 for local wounded military members and their families.  Last year, we exceeded that total, and to date, this 'small' dinner has raised more than $500,000 for local wounded military families.

 

On Wednesday, March 11, 2020, Chef Thierry, WISH for OUR HEROES, and Coach Popovich, will host the fourth annual Heroes at the Grill.   This intimate evening affair will consist of a cocktail hour followed by a four-course gourmet meal prepared by Master Chef Thierry Burkle.  Each course will be paired with a selection of Coach Pop's favorite wine.  Coach Popovich will serve as the Master of Ceremonies (Maitre d’), and the dinner will be served by local wounded military heroes, military dignitaries, and other local celebrities.  150 plates will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis for a donation to WISH for OUR HEROES (www.wishforourheroes.org).  100% OF ALL PROCEEDS RAISED WILL ASSIST LOCAL WOUNDED MILITARY MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES struggling with basic needs (food, shelter, transportation, child needs, uncovered medical expenses, handicap accessibility, etc).  Live and silent auctions will be featured at the event.  All reservations must be made in advance by purchasing tickets at www.heroesatthegrill.org.

 

There are 2 options to purchase tickets for Heroes at The Grill:

• Individual Tickets - $250/person ($500/couple):  Includes cocktail hour, a gourmet 4-course meal prepared by Chef Thierry and served by our Wounded Heroes, and a wine pairing with each course.

• VIP Table for 6 - $1,600:  Includes dinner for 6 (with everything included above), a VIP location in the dining room, and a special gift from Coach Popovich
